What do you mean 'Not Beads'?
Well...I mean that this is a page to show off my 'not beads' or bead related crafts. Yes, crafts. Sometimes it's just too hot for torching (I know: 'Hush your mouth, Shannon!') and I need to kick back with something that doesn't spew fire near me. Dont get me wrong - I LOVE making beads, but sometimes a girl just has to get her other crafts on.

These lovelies are made from cotton and hand crocheted by moi. I was making these for Christmas stocking stuffers last year and just kept on making them. As you can see, I like to use bright colours and usually edge the piece with a bit of white. |

| These scarves were only three of about
nine that I made while I was going through SFU's PDP. I had a lot
of nervous energy that fall and, being a poor student teacher, I decided
to make people gifts that year for Christmas. Gentlemen received
double-yard wool scarves (to give more 'oomph' than just a single
yarn...and, yes, to make it so I could use thicker needles), while the
ladies received scarves similar to these in a variety of colours. Each of these scarves took me about 3 hours to knit, not including the tassels at the ends. They're made of extra chunky yarn knit on 9mm needles. Each scarf is approximately 6' long and 8" wide. |

| These little beauties were sitting in a drawer, waiting for me to do something with them. So I did. I took them out of the little container that had been housing them for ages and I popped them into the kiln and gently slumped them. The sharp edges disappeared and new life was given to the forgotten millefiori as Mancala game pieces. | |
